Re: Align to "non planar" surface

I would work with 2 alignments. Especially with RPS it is important to have a reproducibility. First I would do a simple 3-2-1 (Plane, Point, Line) alignment or Plane/Line/Line. Then I would create 4 target points for A1,2,3 and 4. Measure the target points according drawing requirement (on the righ...

Re: Holes on a cylinder

Good Question. :)

Difficult answer because I do not know what you want to put into your report. So first question:

Do you have a CAD Model available or do you want to measure without CAD model?

Re: Cocentricity with short cylinders

what about option to use datum for cocentricity as a circle.....is this by the rules. Bearing in mind, your probe diameter might be 3, 4 or 6 mm but your "cylindar" is merely 2.5, you have not enough space to measure an ideal cylindar anyway. So the drawing is actually nonsense. Engineers are human...

Re: How to reset Alignment in Teach-Mode

Hi, thank you for your reply and sorry for late feedback. Last weeks were very stressy here, had absolutely no time for CMM-Manager, even I would like to "play" with. Yes, before the initial alignment. Because I mostly create the main datum at position 0, 0, 0 and - based on the distances of other e...

... or you simply save the files for your operators as ".prg" instead of ".cmp". PRG-Files cannot be edited. You may keep the original CMP-Files in another Folder, where the operators do not have access to.

How to reset Alignment in Teach-Mode

Does anybody know how to reset the alignment in teach mode back to begin? My issue is as follows: First I enter the nominals. That's easy because they mostly follow the axes X/Y/Z and I know their distances and orientations. 01 First Nominals.PNG But as soon as I used the program and measured one ob...

Re: True position report for hex

After finishing the first run, I turn the bolt to another hex side the run the 2nd run and keep doing that to 6th hex side to ensure the reading is repeatable. But All 6 readings are different. The differ is about 0.002 to 0.003. Are you measuring a Bolt? I have a warm feeling that you are trying t...

Re: Upcoming Release - Conclusions?

Thank you for confirmation. Great News. I am really looking forward to the new release. Excel-Report would be fine. VB-Script should remain as it is. That is an english programming language and everybody who is familar with it knows that decimal sign has to be a point. However. I would not mind to h...

Upcoming Release - Conclusions?

Regarding the next release of 3.9 or Service Pack for current version, I would much appreciate if we could have a fixed topic where the planned changes are listed, at least those which have been discussed in this forum. That would make sense for me as it would help to not forget some fixes. For exam...

Re: Faro PCS (Part Coordinate System or Reference Frame) Issue

Hi, I do not want to make you wrong promises. I am not an expert for CMM Manager because I worked many years with PowerInspect, what is far away from CMMManager related to Process-Flow and Alignment. If nobody else should have an idea, I can still try to help. I am a curious person and interested. I...
