Out of memory

Post by SebastianXP » Thu Jan 11, 2018 9:08 am

Dear Nikon team.

I have a problem with a importing a 'big' cad data. I import 2 cad data (~50 and 70 mb) and software going to crush after start typing lines.

CMM Manager recognize over 26.500 faces from cad data.

So far, moving and rotating models is so slow that work is so unconfortable. In others software, like FreeCad data move and rotate very well.

Please help !

I have received the files. What are the specifications of the PC you are using?

QA is looking into it, but I have not yet heard back. Sorry for the delay.

I have had the same problem in the past. IGES files do better than Step when it comes too large files.

CMM-Manager 3.7 SP2 will be out in a couple of weeks and I think the new CAD converter that comes with it should resolve the issue. My colleague who loaded the CAD file did say that:

"Solidworks shows nearly 8,000 “fault” faces whatever that means. “Degenerate” geometry. No morals?"

I am not entirely sure what this means, but it seems the CAD model has some issues. It may be worth trying to see if you can get the CAD model in another format.
