SP25 Scanning on Mitutoyo PH10MQ

Post by ALDURAN14 » Wed May 06, 2020 2:29 pm

Hello,

I was hoping to get some insight on the possibility of using SP25 scanning module on a MITUTOYO CMM. We currently have one zeiss cmm with scanning, one LK with cmm manager touch probe and two Mitutoyo cmm manager with touch probe. We have more jobs that we would like to do scanning so we would like to upgrade one of the Mitutoyo cmm’s to scanning. We already have the SP25 upgrade kit and we also seem to have the scanning module on cmm manager as the Scan Ribbon is active. However the previous person in my position was unable to get this up and running from my understanding and now my boss is in contact with Mitutoyo who insist we need to go back MCOSMOS for scanning to work. From my research we seem to have everything needed for this upgrade to work and CMM Manager has the capability for scanning with this CMM. I could be wrong be would like to at least verify first before we purchase a 3rd CMM programming software for our lab. We have different versions of CMM Manager but the one we want to upgrade has v3.9 sp2. Besides swapping in the SP25 and updating the probe build are there any additional steps?

Mitutoyo UC controller is plug-n-play and supports SP25. See list of supported CMMs with SP25 here - https://www.cmmmanager.com/forum/viewto ... f=25&t=971

You probably need to Register a Renishaw .dll in order to get this working in CMM-Manager. I suggest contacting Help Desk for assistance.

Would anyone happen to know if Help desk is still working during this time? I have been trying to contact them for three weeks now with no response which I understand given the circumstances. I was just hoping maybe a member has gone thru the upgrade process and could give some feedback.

Thanks

Alduran,

Just wanted to see if this is the machine that we had been looking at for a few months now. It apparently is. Helpdesk should contact you shortly.
