Solved - Exporting keyboard shortcut keys after updating

Post by Cy Goughman » Sat Sep 28, 2019 12:39 pm

I notice the keyboard shortcuts don't get moved forward with the export/import profile package. Might they be added to it? ...or is there another way to move them all at once? Thanks.

I am unsure whether or not they do get moved, but what file are you importing.

If you create a helpdesk file from the pearl, and import it into the other seat of software by importing the configuration, and it doesn't work, then I suspect there is not a way to export the key-bindings.

This has been bugging me for a while too.

1. The helpdesk file doesn't save them.
2. Exporting the environment by itself won't do it.
3. Exporting the layout doesn't do it either. :(

It is because things that are tied to the Windows User, don't get captured I suppose. I am not sure if there is a way for us to do this, but I will find out and will keep you posted.

Hurray. You can put those frustrations to bed. I learned a couple of new things regarding key shortcuts.

If you want to print out a report of all of your keyboard shortcuts so you don't have to remember them, you can do that by clicking on the button shown below. You both may already know this, but it was new by me.

If you want to export the shortcuts, you can export the registry branch shown below and import it into the other seat. Always bares mentioning that you can screw stuff up quite a bit when in the registry, so use caution. This will also be version dependent. It is the registry address and contents so make sure it goes into the correct branch/address on the other PC.

Export by Right Clicking on Shortcut branch as described in previous post. Copy .REG file to new PC and Double-Click on the file to replace Keyboard shortcuts on new PC.

Note - you can save these exported Shortcuts to another version of CMM-Manager by editing exported .REG file. I was able to load shortcuts exported from CMM-Manager 3.9 SP1 into version 3.8 SP1 by editing file below as shown.

Code: Select all

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Nikon\CMM-Manager 3.8 SP1\Shortcuts]
"Accelerators"=hex:00,e1,00,00,09,00,4e,00,00,00,00,00,03,e1,00,00,09,00,53,00,\
  00,00,00,00,01,e1,00,00,09,00,4f,00,00,00,00,00,07,e1,00,00,09,00,50,00,00,\
  00,00,00,3e,82,00,00,09,00,45,00,00,00,00,00,3c,82,00,00,09,00,52,00,00,00,\
  00,00,37,82,00,00,01,00,5a,00,00,00,00,00,35,82,00,00,01,00,57,00,00,00,00,\
  00,35,82,00,00,01,00,73,00,00,00,00,00,ff,b7,00,00,0d,7f,43,00,00,54,00,00
"AcceleratorsVersion"=dword:00000001
